The company has one goal in mind: that you stay within its platform for as long as possible and that you watch many series and movies. Its means to achieve this end is to launch Fast Laughs, a reel of short and funny videos created with content from the series, programs, and movies of the platform.
“Do you want to see something fun?” This is how Netflix begins the announcement of its new tool for mobile devices. The deployment on iPhone has already started and will later land on Android.
In Fast Laughs what you will see will be short videos and full screen with which you can interact. You can like, write comments, share and add to your List, among other options.
These clips are related to content that already exists on the streaming platform, for example, Murder Mystery, Big Mouth, The Crew, Kevin Hart, and Ali Wong.
To access Fast Laughs you just have to press the corresponding tab that bears the same name and is located in the bottom bar.
Videos play automatically, unlike Instagram or TikTok reels, where you have to slide your finger from bottom to top to switch to the next video.
Netflix comments that in some of these videos there may be comments or scenes that are not suitable for all audiences.
In Fast Laughs, the stand-up specials will be given a lot of prominences, and that is because the company is investing a lot of effort in that humorous content where we can see Adam Sandler and Kevin Hart among others.
Netflix does not want to launch a new application, but rather to offer users another way to entertain themselves without leaving the streaming platform. Besides, through these short videos, you can enjoy content or scenes that you may have missed.
Hopefully, there are no spoilers because this play can still go wrong for the queen of streaming platforms. What do you think, was a TikTok necessary within Netflix?
