How can I Print and Then Cut pictures and fonts?

Create a print, then Cut off items from images, typefaces, and writing styles using the Write line type by converting them.

You have the choice of printing them with or without a background form, then punching them out or manually cutting them out after they have been printed.

If you have a Cricut, you are aware of the many options it offers. Cricut Print Then Cut is my favorite.

You may use it to cut custom images made outside of Design Space. How to print and cut Cricut graphics is shown in this article.

A step-by-step explanation of the best printer for Cricut along with the Cricut Print Then Cut feature is provided. Get images of Design Space, tips for fixing problems, and a free practice template.

All of this information is covered in the lesson below, and you can get the free diagram to use while you study it at the end of this post.

Materials Needed for Cricut Print and Cut

  • 5 x 11 white cardstock paper
  • Cricut Explore Air-2
  • Standard Cricut cutting mat for grip (if you are using a new mat, get it a little dirty first, or be sure to use cardstock, not computer paper – When cutting computer paper or anything lighter than cardstock, use a light-grip cutting mat.)
  • Template for practicing with Christmas trees (can be found in my FREE resource library – find out more at the end of this post)

TIPS Before Beginning

  • For usage with Cricut’s Print Then Cut feature, only white or very light-colored paper is allowed.
  • First Print Then Cut section, which measures only 9.25 by 6.75 inches, must fit in your image.
  • To ensure that the lines are cut precisely, make sure your printer has been calibrated.
  • Visit this Cricut help page if you want more troubleshooting.
  • This lesson is finished using the desktop edition of Cricut Design Space.
  • There’s a chance the tablet app won’t be the same.

Print the style fonts with a background pattern

  1. Please enter the form that you want to use for your project.
  2. Change the size and shape as desired.
  3. Change the font to a writing style, add some text on the canvas, and then choose a color for it.
  4. Text should be placed over the project form in the appropriate order.
  5. Make care to keep the text totally within the form to avoid it getting clipped.
  6. After choosing All, click Flatten at the bottom of the Layers window.
  7. Click the Make It button to print and cut out your image using your home printer.

Print the style fonts without a background pattern

  1. Change the font to a writing style, add some text on the canvas, and then choose a color for it.
  2. For your project, the text should be organized as required. Use Attach if you want to keep the text’s relative positioning.
  3. Switch to Print from Write on the line type. A color selection is optional. Click Make It.
  4. Select the number of project copies you want, then click Continue. Be advised that there is currently no way to print without the cut sensor marking.
  5. After determining how many copies to print, click Print after selecting your printer from the list by clicking Send to Printer.
  6. Click Cancel to leave the canvas without feeding the printed sheet into the cutter.

You’re done now!

Tips:

If your cut lines are off, calibrate your printer to the Cricut. Make sure the ADD BLEED option is enabled when you choose SEND TO PRINTER in the Printer Options.

But remember, you cannot do this with your best sublimation printer which is only for clothing print.

One of my favorites is the Print Then Cut feature on the Cricut. It has changed how I utilize my Cricut despite its flaws and size restrictions.

It’s undoubtedly one of the elements I use the most for enjoyable tasks like paper crafts as well as other enjoyable hobbies like custom screen-printing t
