Get The Right Pan For Your Kitchen!
It sounds like a cakewalk when you think about going kitchen shopping. Although, getting the perfect pan for your desired dishes is tricky.
One common confusion we have seen is between the use of a saute pan vs a frying pan.
A surprising fact is, we think both the above-said appliances are common, but you generally do not see a saute pan in each kitchen.
People usually do all sorts of cooking in a frying pan unless they’re striving for perfection. in Actuality, saute pans are a mix of a saucepan and frying pan, i.e. a little bit of both.
Which pan is better?
Well, the difference between saute pans and frying pans is fairly subtle. Both have a large base, are shallow and are accompanied by a long handle.
- The lid
One may say they can be interchangeably used, although saute pans have a lid too. The primary purpose of the lid is to lock in the heat while cooking and, more importantly, the moisture. Sometimes when the dishes are cooked for a longer duration, they tend to taste dry. This is not the case with these pans. With lids, your dish remains moist, and the texture and taste remain intact.
While using a frying pan, our main aim is to get rid of the moisture at the earliest, the reason being that we want the dish to be crisp.
Well, these are the opposite situations and so we know what pan to use. But, at times, we have some casserole dishes which we want to simmer at low heat. If you do that in a frying pan, it will run out of its moisture and won’t taste good. Hence, this is where our saute pans come in!
- The sides
Honestly, it’s a very minute observation, but we cannot deny that the saute pans have straight, vertical sides, which makes it easier to move things inside the pan easily. The sauce within the pan could easily be removed from the sides without much wastage. Such sides also come in handy while steering dishes like steak or chicken thighs which require more space and time to cook.
Talking about some saucy dishes, for say, even curry, this pan is your best pick. The saucepan or frying pan lacks depth. They have straight sides in some modifications, but the lack of depth restricts us to increase the quantity of food we can cook in them. With the help of saute pans, you are less likely to spill your food over the hob and finish your cooking in time.
- Oven safe
Haven’t we all been in the space where we were cooking but the gas finished? Or the electricity went out? In such times, all we want is a multipurpose appliance which can be easily switched from gas to oven and vice-versa. Well, these pans do that. Mostly, all of them are oven safe.
- Direct serve
We have seen that all these pans are made of materials that look like stainless steel, which is so elegant and fresh. Even if you feel tired of cooking for so long and just wish to serve directly from the stove-hot pot or oven-fresh, then you’re good to go!
These pans look even great at tables, and hence you can procrastinate the urge to clean them immediately.
