How to Select Committed and Trusted Concrete Contractors

In the construction of a work, the expenses are mainly concentrated in two large groups: Materials and Labor. And when we talk about our own labor, several complex and often inaccurate calculation expenses arise. After all, Social Charges can greatly increase payroll expenses.

Faced with this scenario, many Builders and Developers opt for outsourced labor – the famous contractors.

However, entrusting a considerable portion of the costs of a work to third parties is a task that requires great care and prudence.

When does a company characterize itself as a “Contractor”?

That is, the Contractor can be:

  • the Civil Construction professional who is hired by a couple to build their home;
  • the construction company contracted through a bidding process to carry out a public work; or yet
  • The Construction Company that will carry out a specific stage of a project managed by a Construction Company or Incorporator.

However, the main characteristic of hiring Concrete Contractors is linked to his remuneration.

While the workforce itself is hourly or monthly, the contractor’s remuneration is global, that is, it is proportional to the task performed.

Therefore, the receipt of the contractor is not linked to the duration of the work, but to the completion of a certain service.

When hiring a contractor can be advantageous

Right from the start, the golden criterion for deciding whether or not to hire a Contractor is: Term.

Generally, the hiring process of own labor tends to take some time between the opening of the vacancy and the full production of the contracted professional. Selecting and hiring a new employee, mainly for specific functions, taking admission exams and in some cases, essential training, can take more than thirty days.

When we choose to hire a Contractor, the process of entering the professional or the team at the construction site can be cut in half!

Another advantage that hiring a contractor will bring to the Contractor: the expertise in performing a certain service, or a range of services related to each other.

As we said earlier, the Contractor establishes a Service Delivery Contract, with the Construction Company or even with the Final Client, in order to perform defined services.

Through this contract, he will be responsible for the labor employed in that service, assuming the expenses with Certifications, Qualifications and Labor Charges.

We know that this is quite an impact on the labor force!

Finally, hiring contractors has positive effects when considering the seasonality of certain services.

Let’s think about a project with a very tight schedule. In these situations, we usually have peaks in production, which can interleave with each other. This implies a large number of hires and layoffs, the need for adjustments to the jobsite layout and many other points that the entrepreneur is well aware of.

Thus, a good option is to outsource punctual services, which guarantee the delivery of the work on time and without losing quality. The hiring process tends to be faster and the team, a specialist in that service, already starts the activity with good training.
