Edinson Cavani takes time off to share his thoughts revolving around Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he had considered a very close colleague.

Edinson Cavani takes time off to air his deeply felt thoughts and opinions regarding and revolving around his one-time game partner Cristiano Ronaldo. This was when they both happened to have played for Manchester United. However, according to him, he had some serious and relevant issues regarding Ronaldo right when he came on to Old Trafford.

Edinson also revealed he earnestly felt that his otherwise secure position in the Old Trafford Club would definitely come under threat once he realized that Ronaldo was also being signed up. His feelings of insecurity began to come to the forefront. Until then, Cavani, who happens to be Uruguay’s absolute favorite forward player, had managed to make a place for himself by striking up a tremendous track record of successfully scoring 17 goals. This was achieved by playing in a total of 39 matches.

This, however, also happened to have been during his debut season with United. Despite all of what he had contributed to the game of professional football, he still felt completely ill at ease with the coming back of Ronaldo, which according to him, was being carried out with a lot of fanfare. However, despite all the odds he felt were stacking up against him, for the sake and overall benefit of Manchester, he was compelled to put all of it aside and consider the positive points which emanated with Ronaldo’s signing up.

In this situation, where Cavani was concerned, he felt that his rising insecurities needed an instant outlet. He, therefore, brought his brother into the picture. His brother, who goes by the name of Walter Fernando Guglielmone, also happens to be his official agent. In his own words, he felt a lot lighter in the head and heart after he exchanged his innermost thoughts with him, coupled with the threat perceptions that were on top of his mind.

Further, in his own words, his sudden lack of confidence and feeling of not belonging anymore did not stem from the fact that he was against the idea of playing football games and tournaments by the side of Ronaldo. On the other hand, he was quick to accept and appreciate the neat and expert player within him, coupled with his utmost professionalism toward the overall game of football. He also did not shy away from accepting him as one of the best players in the world and being an excellent asset for the entire football team to which he so fondly belonged.
